Stick Insects – Jungle Nymph Heteropteryx dilatata – Individual

This listing is for an individual Jungle Nymph stick insect. This species are the heaviest and also one of the biggest stick insects in the world. Both male and females are brown when nymphs (see rest of images) but females turn a bright green colour when reaching adulthood and grow up to 15cm in length (see first image). The males stay brown in colour, are smaller in size but are capable of flight (see first image). Due to size of adults, a tank with a height of at least 45cm is advised. This species of stick insect usually have a calmer temperament if held regularly but are recommended for experienced keepers as have spikes on their legs and may kick hind limbs in defence. Before purchase, it is recommended that research on their care is taken. Stick insects come with a detailed care guide (that can be requested beforehand by emailing ‘zoo@thebugfarm.co.uk’) and are sent by Special Delivery*. We post live insects on Tuesdays and Thursdays only each week. We currently have larger nymphs/sub-adults/adults available for purchase.

*Please note that although the stick insects are sent by Special delivery, processing the order can take a few days. If you need your insects by a particular date, please make sure to let us know in your order notes or give us a call and we will do our best to get them to you in time.

**We do not send out live stick insects in cold weather. If you have placed your order in a cold snap, we will send them as soon as the weather warms up to make sure that their journey to you is comfortable!
