Opening times

We are currently closed to the public. HOWEVER, we are still here and busy looking after the animals (big and small) as well as working behind the scenes on many conservation and education projects to make The Bug Farm even better for you to visit once we can open again. To keep up to date with what we are up to, do follow us @Dr Beynon’s Bug Farm on Facebook.
If you want to support us in the meantime, we can offer the following options for buying items from our gift shop:
1. Buy online on our website, put a note on the order to say you will be collecting and e-mail us to arrange a collection slot. We will use the P&P money to buy wildflower seeds or plug plants which we will plant here to benefit biodiversity.
2. Have a browse online and e-mail us with what you would like to buy. Include your phone number for us to phone you to take card payment and arrange a collection slot.
3. Buy on the online gift shop as usual.

When we get back to normal, our regular opening hours are:

  • April-October: open Thursday to Sunday
  • All UK school holidays & bank holidays: open every day
  • November-April: open weekends

Please read our guidelines on how to visit us before arrival – please note that these will be updated regularly.

Ideally, please book your entrance ticket online in advance of your visit, even if you have a season ticket.

Outside of the summer and Easter holiday periods you can visit Grub Kitchen without paying to go around The Bug Farm too. However, preference for table space is given to Bug Farm customers and, with numbers onsite currently restricted due to Covid-19, we cannot guarantee table space for walk-ins. We can take bookings for Sunday lunch in Grub Kitchen over the telephone, but all other lunch services are first-come-first-served.

The Bug Farm and Grub Kitchen opening times are 10:30am – 4:30pm

Food is served in Grub Kitchen 12pm – 2:30pm and 12pm – 3:30pm during school holidays. Drinks and cakes are available all day.
