Green Bean Stick Insect Diapherodes gigantea – Individual

This listing is for one individual green bean stick insect captive bred at The Bug Farm and are being sold as a pet only. We are currently posting out sub adults/adults. There is limited stock available of these remarkable creatures.

Females stay a bright green colour throughout their life but the males turn brown by adulthood and grow a set of functional wings. Adult females grow larger (up to 20cm in length, including antennae) than the males (up to 16cm in length, including antennae) but only develop small, vestigial wings and are too heavy for flight. Please note that you will need a tall, well ventilated tank to house these large stick insects – 60cm in height is the minimum recommended. Handle with care. Children should be supervised at all times. All stick insects come with detailed care guide and are sent by Special Delivery and we only post live insects on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

*Please note that although the stick insects are sent by Special Delivery, we cannot always process your order on the day it arrives with us. If you need your insects by a particular date, please make sure to let us know in your order notes and we will do our best to get them to you in time.

*We do not send out live stick insects in cold weather. If you have placed your order in a cold snap, we will send them as soon as the weather warms up to make sure that their journey to you is comfortable!
